When you use the recorder, we may collect: Recorded steps: Actions you perform on a page (e.g. clicks, typed text, form choices, navigation, scroll). This can include: Page URLs you visit while recording Selectors and element labels (e.g. button text, field labels) Text you type into fields (e.g. search terms, form input) Recording metadata: Such as a recording title and the URL of the page where recording stopped. Integration token: If you use the extension from our website or another integrated product, we may receive an identifier (token) that links the recording to that integration.

When is data sent to our servers?

Sent to our servers: Recorded scenario data (steps, metadata, and optionally page URL and integration token) is sent to our backend (hosted with Supabase) when:

You stop a recording and the extension is used with our website integration or similar setup that enables saving to our backend, or Our integration is configured to auto-save when you stop recording.
Not sent: If you only use "Export JSON" (or equivalent) and do not use any feature that saves to our backend, your recordings stay on your device and are not sent to us.
You can choose to use the extension in a local-only way (e.g. only exporting to your computer) so that no recording content is sent to our servers.

Third-party services

We use Supabase to store and process recorded scenarios that you choose to save to our backend. Supabase processes data on our behalf under their terms and privacy policy. We do not allow them to use your data for their own advertising or unrelated purposes.

Data retention

On our servers: We retain recorded scenarios and related metadata for as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law. You can ask us to delete your data (see "Your rights" below).
On your device: Data in Chrome's local storage is controlled by your browser and can be cleared via Chrome settings or by removing the extension.

Retention of Data

We retain your personal information as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy unless a longer retention period is required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect data stored on our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Aura Recorder is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have received such data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g. in the extension or by email where we have it).
